We found the Learn and Master software to be the first overall guitar learning software available on the market today. The company which produces it has been creating software to teach people how to play guitar and other instruments for the last 10 years. Those 10 years have given this company plenty of time to perfect their training system.
The program consists of either 10 or 20 dvds, mailed to you within a couple of days after payment. The video demonstrations are clear, simply explained, and easy to follow. You can tell when watching the dvds how much time and care went into the production. The company also supplies printed materials so that you don’t always have to watch the DVD if you want to practice. The coolest part of the program is actually the online support, where you can communicate DIRECTLY with the man who is teaching you in the videos. He takes time from his schedule to talk to his students directly, and help them with any questions they have during the process. A total 5 star learning experience.
Pricing
This program, being the best of the three, is also a little more expensive. The 10 dvd set costs $119, and you can opt for a beginner plus intermediate set of 20 dvds for $149. If you are serious about learning and plan to continue past the beginning series, the $149 set is the best value. Since the price of either set is comparable to only about 3-4 hours of what a live instructor would cost, the program offers a great value for your money.

This company has been around for 3 years, and offers the option of both a downloadable training software, dvd set, or both. The option to download the training books and videos is convenient for those people who want to get started today, or just want to “test the waters” of guitar playing, with only a small monetary investment. The program offers streaming video sessions by professional guitar players, e-books with high resolution photos, showing chord and other details close up, plus a unique program that allows you to tune your guitar using your computer. The Deluxe edition also offers the added benefit of several custom made games which offer a fun way to learn songs and chords. We recommend the deluxe edition, due to the inclusion of those games.

Guitar Super Stars is our number 3 pick. The benefit of this system is that it offers its customers 4-5 different guitar teachers in its training program, so you have the ability to pick the instructor who best suits your learning style. The program is not as complete as the other two, and in our time reviewing it, we found that it mostly focuses on beginning players only. If you want to move from a beginning level into an intermediate level, it may not offer the same type of “growing room” as the other two programs. The lessons are downloadable like Jamorama and an added benefit is that it offers beginners many playing styles to choose from such as blues, heavy metal, country, and a few others. So, for those just looking to get a small taste of playing guitar, it is our recommended program.
Pricing
This system is the least expensive, at only $47. That includes all of the downloadable lessons, e-books, and other files necessary to start playing. As we stated above, with the very low price, also comes a low potential for growth. This is only recommended for those who want something entertaining to do, but do not plan to get serious about playing guitar. If you buy this system and become more serious later, you’d probably need to buy one of the other systems after completing this one.
